Seen with the parents via HBO or Prism in Philadelphia.
It’s amazing what some inspired, creative folks can make out of a grade-z quickie from 1960! I have already written about having been in the band supporting my high school’s show choir, and the musical’s numbers that we performed. I also mentioned the bizarre circumstances of seeing this wonderful Off-Broadway show in the Village, and then seeing it at a dinner theater with my parents. Then this movie adaptation came along. Very inspired casting, particularly getting Steve Martin as the sadistic dentist paired with Bill Murray in the old Jack Nicholson role. Rick Moranis as Seymour and Ellen Greene as Audrey are wonderful. Just an all-round fun experience.
