("That Is Tien" or "Flattened Dock"--tr t) In the preface, a giant statue comes to life, stomps a man into the ground, and cackles... A big fish, or snake, from the sea spits an egg onto the beach. A big frog eats it, fusses, spits it out, and the egg hatches a woman, nicely gowned, who disappears into the frog, which now walks on two legs and talks in the woman's voice. It relaxes by smoking a big-frog-sized cigarette. (No questions, please.) Meanwhile, a big sea-lizard turns into a man. The frog and a small horse (or big pony) have a conversation. An incidental blue gorilla shows up for some silly comedy. After all this, a two-legged horned, growling, blue dinosaur almost seems mundane. But not quite. Two more blue dinosaurs engage in a slapping contest, before falling off a cliff. The Godzilla-sized statue of the preface plays peek-a-boo behind the tops of tall buildings. (Strange effect.) It has a confab with another giant, living statue, before a priest makes them vanish. "Tien" seems made for kids, but there's some (incidental) female nudity. And, yes, the miniskirt craze hit Thailand, too. No English, but I'd like to know what the original giant statue and the frog were, at one point, talking about. The general balminess is interrupted only by long dialogue scenes.![😛]()
