On show at the Glasgow Film Festival is Czech movie Restore Point.
The year is 2041. People take automatic backups of their consciousness on an embedded chip. Traumatic death is no longer the end as the victim can often be restored to life. A couple is murdered, one is returned and Agent Em (Andrea Mohylova) is tasked with investigating the event which turns out to be more complicated than at first conceived.
This low-budget sci-fi thriller which came from almost nowhere has soaked up good reviews across Europe and is sure to pick up prizes on this year's festival circuit. Stylish deadpan Andrea Mohylova is also destined for greater things:
