Principals: "Todd from another time", who travels on the Santa Ana winds to the past... his father, who seems at one point to enter the eighth dimension... the nefarious Lucifer Grey, who wants to "mold" the future. with Todd's help... Lady Salome, who ventriloquizes the skull of the husband she killed... and Todd's friend Cuda (short for "Barracuda"), who becomes a lizard in the "lizard colony". ("Can you handle lizards?") Offhand, charming original--not just another chapter of something. There's a lyrical flashback idyll to 1852 with Todd and Salome, which features a sort of flashback within the flashback of Todd witnessing the death of Salome's husband in the "eyes" of the latter's skull. An inventive visualization! Unpretentious but fulfilling ending with Todd and father and Todd and the now-talking-on-its-own skull. One of the few drawbacks: too much airy talk from Lucifer and the seer Andromeda.![😊]()
