Who would have thought there was so much repressed animus against a doe-eyed Cervidae?
When Felix Salten's Bambi entered the public domain, we might have expected a slew of treacly-sweet forest bound stories of hinds and harts. Instead, we have two horror movies on the horizon. The first, Bambi: The Reckoning is part of the popular Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey stable - but the latest is Bampire - described as a gory vampire slasher comedy - still in the production phase.
Odd to use 'gory' and 'comedy' in the same sentence - but there you go. Time will tell if it's a success:
