Universal Horrors • Frankenstein and Dracula enter public domain in 2027. Colorization not far behind?

The first version of Mickey Mouse from 'Steamboat Willie' entered public domain this year, and it was a pretty big deal. Films made in 1931, like 'Frankenstein' and 'Dracula,' will be entering public domain in 2027. I'd say the odds are very good we will be getting colorized versions not long after. I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to the possibilities.

'The Mummy,' 'Invisible Man,' and 'Bride of Frankenstein,' will follow in 2028, 2029, and 2031. Exciting times. We've gotta wait till 2044 for the last one, 'Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.'
