Stop-Motion Magic • is Stop Motion Dead (again)?

Some here might recall the infamous Starlog Magazine from 1984 with the banner "Is stop-motion dead?" on the cover.
This sentiment was repeated ad infinitum in 1994 after JURASSIC PARK was released,  yet the Speilberg movie and the birth of CG character animation actually helped the acceptance of stop motion much more than it hurt it.  In fact, it brought about stop motion's golden age.

But in a sudden development, it seems that AI has pretty much ended the the greenlighting of new commercial stop motion productions (for the most part.)   Oh well, after 125 years, I guess you could say that it has been a good run.
