Goodness graveyard, we are slipping.
We’re into the second month of 2025 and no wish list for this year.
And now look what happened. THE MAN WHO RECLAIMED HIS HEAD was announced by Kino and we don’t get to cross it off the list. Even worse, I don’t get to make another dumb joke about Camps getting an obscure title never before officially released on home video.
Anywho, a lot of great titles were announced last year. We got the remaining Warner and RKO biggies. We got a holy grail title, THE MUMMY AND THE CURSE OF THE JACKALS. Maybe that’s more of an unholy grail picture, but we got it nonetheless.
And we have in-demand titles on the way this year that were announced last year like THE VIRGIN OF NUREMBERG. I hope it comes out before she is no longer a maiden and leaves for her honeymoon.
So let’s get this thing going…
I’m keeping my list short and leaving things off that have rights or clearance issues, so no MURDER BY THE CLOCK on my list even though I want it really, really badly, which means we may get it because I left it off the list and fate enjoys embarrassing me.
Numbah 1 on my list is NIGHT OF TERROR (1933) featuring Lugosi
THRILLER, the US series hosted by Karloff. Taken from the camera negatives.
GREAT GHOST TALES the 1961 US TV series featuring some well-known actors in many classic horror tales.
WAY OUT the 1961 US TV anthology series hosted by Roald Dahl
THE MAN WHO CHANGED HIS MIND (1936) aka The Man Who Lived Again. It is absolutely criminal this hasn’t been released on blu-ray yet.
STRANGLER OF THE SWAMP (1946)
PHANTOM OF THE RUE MORGUE (1954) in 3D
SCARED TO DEATH (1946) let’s get Lugosi’s only color feature out before the remaining the film elements go squishy.
BLOOD AND ROSES (1960)
TERROR ABOARD (1933)
THE GORILLA (1927)
My Powerball Extra Shot is BEFORE DAWN (1933) — This mystery has horror trappings out the wazoo plus Warner Oland. C’mon Kino, squeeze another Paramount from Universal.
