Not a supernatural creature but a scientific monster resulting from a rare blood disease, so is appropriately known as the Living Vampire, this is Morbius. A monster, yes, but not evil, because Michael Morbius is driven by a bloodlust uncontrollable due to his rare blood disease. A character that both horrifies and evokes sympathy at the same time.
Not only does his vicious blood-lust horrify but also his face because of its stark-white pallor and maniacal eyes. Seen in that light I could never understand how he could acquire so many girlfriends and so easily. In the early stories, his physical appearance horrified both men and women--but later on in the black and white magazine, Vampire Tales, he could easily acquire girlfriends, and gorgeous ones at that. It's beyond me how he could do that with the hideousness of his face.
