Unknown (2011)
A man suffers confusion and partial amnesia after a vehicular accident abroad and a four-day coma which might make him think he's losing his mind, but more likely that he is the victim of a gaslighting conspiracy against him.
A scientist and his wife travel to Germany for a conference he is to give... No more will be said.
There is eventually a really good effort to explain very improbable, near-supernatural developments, (two characters simultaneously reciting the same lines in synch, for example,) but even then, looking back at some of the earlier scenes will reveal inconsistent behavior (unless all of that is construed as part of a disoriented mind.)
A neat thriller that, for example, gives audiences the satisfaction of watching a bomb disarmament sequence that might defy audience expectations but also neatly ties loose ends.
With Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, January Jones, Aidan Quinn, Bruno Ganz, and Frank Langella (whose casting immediately reveals obvious character traits.)
Hardly a classic action-thriller, but quite passable for this sort of thing.
Check it out.
