I saw Alien Romulus over the weekend which wasn't bad but maybe could have been better - even so, it prompted me to consider the upcoming eight-part TV series. "When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat." So far, all we have is a nothing-teaser:
Sounds like it will be worth a shot though. Eight parts suggests there will be a definite story arc with a conclusion. Often a big weakness in American series IMO is that a series ends on a cliffhanger and is then cancelled - leaving viewers fuming at the loss.
Sydney Chandler takes the lead and Essie Davis (Miss Fisher!) also has a role which is intriguing to say the least. No stranger to the genre, Essie was in The Babadook (2014) in which a children's book seemingly comes to life. Sounds harmless, doesn't it?
