Here’s one I’d love to see. But there isn’t much out there.
It was submitted to the Academy Awards in 1960 but was not nominated in 1961.
Narrated by Basil Rathbone, the film was comprised of 50 (!) works of art by John Nathaniel Fenton. This suggests to me that the presentation was along the lines of UPA’s THE TELL-TALE HEART (1953) with sequential art and perhaps not “true” animation.
The only photos I could dig up were a few murky ones from the Cartoon Research website:
The only review I could find thus far is from the April 27, 1960 issue of Motion Picture Exhibitor:
Crew
Director: Robert Braverman
Photography: Larry Lippman
Music: Corelli Jacobs, Arthur De Cenco
Special Effects: Larry Lippman
Artwork: John Fenton
Voices
Basil Rathbone
The film was distributed by Continental Distributing.
