Although I hate the idea of someone's else's eyes having been on a book I have, I recently ordered a used copy of THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE, a wonderful compilation of 12 short stories that inspired science fiction films, edited by b-movie maestro Jim Wynorski. Now out of print, it is a true classic from 1981.
The source stories, shown below, range from the familiar (WHO GOES THERE? > THE THING, THE FOG HORN > THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS, FAREWELL TO THE MASTER > THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, and THE SENTINEL > 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY), to some that may surprise you: THE COSMIC FRAME > INVASION OF THE SAUCERMEN, and DEADLY CITY > TARGET EARTH.
Plus, in truth, how many of us have actually read some of these titles?
There's a lengthy introduction by Ray Bradbury, Wynorski's introductions to each story and film credits, lots of photos, and it just seems an essential piece of science fiction research, well worth someone republishing! Getting the rights might be tough 45 years after (some of the stories bear Forrest J Ackerman's literary agency).

"You don't understand," the mighty robot had said. "I am the master."
