Final Farewells • Johnny Russell, "The Blue Bird"

 "Johnny Russell/John Countryman who played Shirley Temple's younger
brother in THE BLUE BIRD (1940) died a few weeks ago. I checked
the obits on the Board. Crickets. . . . Regardless the quality of the film
it was a major genre effort and his passing should be noted, IMHO.
(Incidentally, I read on IMDB, I believe, that wags in the industry
noted the financial failure of that OZ, wannabe but renaming it
"The Dead Pigeon". Cruel. . . .but funny"
