The busy character actor has passed away.

After I met John in 2022, I wrote this:
John Capodice has a busy career dating back to the late 1970's. He frequently plays gangsters, cops and other tough guys. In person at Spookala, he proved to be boisterously friendly and have a cheerful disposition. His autographed photos were more reasonably-priced than some of the other guests’, which made him even more endearing.
I told him “last night I watched one of your TV shows.” This elicited the ‘which one?’ response I knew it would. I told him “Mr. Monk Takes a Punch.”
John laughed and smiled and said “that was a good one!... I’d worked with Tony Shalhoub before—in Honeymoon in Vegas. He was one of the Elvis Impersonators.” I’ve never seen that movie. Now I want to see it to watch for both John Capodice and Tony Shalhoub in it.
“Didn’t you also appear in a Larry Cohen movie?” I inquired.
“Yes, that was my first movie role, ‘Q: The Winged Serpent.’ Larry was a great guy to work for.” I told John that was a very good film and he nodded his agreement.
John displayed a remarkable memory for details of his career. Not all actors can do that, especially at age 80. (December 25 was John’s 81st birthday.) One credit he did have a little trouble recalling was the TV pilot ‘Lookwell.’ He remembered he enjoyed working with Adam West, but was a little unclear on the details of the story and characters. I told him it was a funny pilot and I was disappointed it hadn’t gone to series.
John had about half a dozen different photos for sale. I chose his Seinfeld option.
RIP to a talented actor and friendly gentleman.
