Recently ran across a magazine from the UK called PHANTASMAGORIA: Horror, Fantasy & Sci-Fi #23. It's a thick 272-page compendium of horror reviews and interviews, classic and modern, and a collection of pro and fan fiction worthy of its own magazine. Plenty of black-and-white illustrations, a cover by Bob Eggleton, and obviously years of publishing behind it.
Everyone from Neal Gaiman to David J. Schow and Clive Barker have appeared within its pages. The latest issue (September 2023), includes a short piece by Stephen Jones making the case that his recently published KONG: An Original Screenplay by Edgar Wallace, proves that Wallace was far more involved in the giant ape's creation than revisionist history indicates. Interestingly, Jones found the screenplay in a cardboard covering among a late friend's estate.
(I've read conflicting accounts about the Wallace influence so look forward to seeing the screenplay for myself).
There is also an ad for a PHANTASMAGORIA Special #8, devoted to women in horror.
Number 23 can be found at Amazon for $17.99
