Not the world's greatest whodunnit, (and I'd put it over in the Murder & Mystery folder but it misses the date cap by a year), but a whole lot of fun for CHFBers. The movie's a very mild noir directed by William Castle and features lots of beloved horror folks (Julie Adams, Henry Hull, Paul Cavanagh, etc); story involves a screenwriter investigating a studio murder of a director decades after the fact. If HOMICIDAL is Castle's PSYCHO, HOLLYWOOD STORY is his SUNSET BOULEVARD. In its humble way, it also mines nostalgia for the late silent movie era (and like SB, features many cameos from silent stars). As it does in the revival theater scenes in THE TINGLER, Castle's love for the old flickers shines through. This wasn't on my radar but I was awfully glad to find it.
