aka "Dr. M Strikes". original titles: "Dr. M Schlagt Zu", "El Doctor Mabuse". And yet I don't think that I heard the names "Dr. M" or "Dr. Mabuse" in the film itself. But there's a Dr. Orloff in it, but perhaps not THE Dr. Orloff. And, to finish with the doctors: There's a guy reading a paperback version of "The Island of Dr. Moreau" here. Docs are what's up. The real star of the show, anyhow, is Rocha as the "hideous monster" Andros, a "super-human creature" in a suit, a "Frankenstein". Poor, browbeaten Andros is the worm who finally turns on his masters. That's the story really, and the turning is telegraphed very early. Fittingly, Andros gets the last shot. The other element to note is the "weird mist" surrounding a lighthouse, bad guy HQ. It proves to be a paralyzing gas. Plus a funny old guy and his dog Carlos. Otherwise, the usual hero, heroine, and villains. A handsome print on YouTube from operazione paura (a nod to Mario Bava).
