College student Ulyana discovers after an accident that she can foresee the death of others. She decides to explore the origin of the curse - a rabbit hole that leads her to the mysterious Ruta - a being that is neither alive nor dead. Based on the best-seller by Olga Ptitseva, much like a Russian Grady Hendrix.
Star of the series, Viktoriya Agalakova, is a scream queen having featured in the almost precognitive Epidemiya / Vongozero: The Outbreak that ran from 2019-22 and charted the events around a zombie-like virus that spreads across the world; Cosmoball (2020) about a future society obsessed with a brutal sport; Mermaid: The Lake of the Dead / Rusalka: Ozero myortvykh (2018), a dark take on the mermaid legend, and The Bride / Nevesta (2017) a creepy tale about the 19th-century practice of photographing the dead with their living relatives.
