So, on Hallowe'en night, my beautiful wife and I watched "Frankenstein". Having seen it a multitude of times in my life, I know the movie from start to finish. My wife, however, has not seen it all the way through. After the end, when the Baron toasts his son, my wife said, "That's it?" She thought the ending was rushed and left a lot to be desired. Moreover, she thought that the ending didn't befit a monster movie. I doubt that Universal already had a sequel in mind when they shot the original so there probably wouldn't have been any cliffhanger-ish imagery included at the end. But, as she often does, she got me to thinking...is it an appropriate ending for just such a movie? Could Whale have come up with a better ending? Personally, I'm ok with it. What say the members? If you agree with my wife, how could it have been improved?
