Horror movies are booming in South-East Asia. In October, eight of the top ten movies in Indonesia were horror movies - all home grown.
Whilst Indo-horror may remain the centre of horror exploitation in the area, other viable production lines have been established in Thailand, Korea, Khampuchea and Vietnam. After the enormous success of Ma Da this year, the same team have produced Ghost in the Palace, due for release in March 2025 and already sold to many markets including Australia and NZ:
