King & Jester were a 1990s phenomenon. A punk rock band, led by Mikhail Gorsheniov that produced a blend of edgy punk rock intermingled with themes of medieval and goth folklore. In the classic tradition of punk rockers, Mikhail struggled with addiction and left us in 2013.
Last year's nine-episode TV series (King & Jester) was a brave and phenomenal hit - blending the iconography of the band's music with the life and death of Mikhail and the tale of a medieval kingdom in a parallel world liberated by the King & Jester himself.
Interest in Mikhail remained so high at the conclusion of the series that a 'concluding' movie is now in production. The fantasy kingdom is now threatened by a necromancer and his tribe of the walking dead. Can a post-mortem Mikhail be revived to rescue the kingdom? This is all getting a bit weird - but that's exactly as Mikhail would have wanted!
