Screambox is starting Hallowe'en early this year - on September 10th - with the release of trick or treat movie Creeping Death:
Director Matt Sempere says, “This sacrilegious act (trick or treat) unleashes the Aos Si, a Celtic spirit that walks the earth on Halloween. They must band together and survive the night or make the ultimate offering… their lives.”
That's not quite right - any Celt (I am one) will tell you the Aos Si (more commonly Sith) are the little people who live underground in fairy mounds and claim to be descended from the Tuatha De Danaan, those who worshipped the Goddess Dana. It's a legend, of course, but like many legends there may be some truth hidden within. The original inhabitants of the Celtic kingdoms (small, dark-haired, prone to eating pasties) may have fled armies seeking to slaughter them in Iberia. At first, it seems quite likely they lived in caves or hollows cut from turf before they were able to build more permanent homes.
