I am starting a new topic on speculating on is it wise to buy now a new 4K TV and new 4K player to accommodate the new releases in 4K disc of classic monster kid releases.
I will be interested to learn if anyone on the forum has actually purchased a new 4K TV and 4K player (both) and played any of the new 4K releases of monster kid releases and how do they look.
I will be wanting or am tempted to buy a new 4K TV and 4K player but am cautious.
For one, I will only buy a new 4K TV and new 4K player if the experience of watching a new 4K release is an extra-ordinary phenomenal experience as I once use to hear that the 4K experience would be like watching a movie in high definition in 3D but without the glasses.
If, on the other hand, the experience is (yawn, yawn) just a dot better than watching regular dvd and blu ray, then obviously, why fill up your home with clutter?
Another member mentioned that he/she would not buy a new 4K TV and new 4K player not only due to budgetary reasons but because technology is building up at such a high rate in todays world that we would not be surprised if shortly down the road yet ANTHER technological wonder makes its presentation such as. say, 5K or 6K, making 4K no matter how wonderful no longer the star
I am also remindful that in the early 2000 plasma TVs were all the rage and must have and were valued on average at about $4000.00 only to be upgraded and lowering of price within a year or two.
At this time 4K TV in 30-odd inches are available in range of about $300.00 and the 4K players at a little lower so they seem to be coming down in price which means more will be selling en masse So my concern at this point may not be too much of affordability but more do I want to buy excessively and do I really need more technological gook cluttering up space
I mean the visual exprenice will be a must and a dictator on to buy or not to buy and if we are talking of fundamentally minimal experience in 4K, then, obviously, it is not worth it.
So in the topic it will be a learning experience to learn views and opinions of those who have actually purchased a 4K TV and 4K player and played an actuall 4K movie disc of a monster kid type classic and if yoiu have not purchased same but have contemplative thoughts those would be of equal value
Currently most of the 4K releases are being packaged with a blu ray as it was when blu rays were first introduced they would come packaged with an extra regular dvd - so the trend is moving along the tried and true path of marketing. But the question is, is it worth it or are we just buying and buying like drones
