Hello everyone! I hope this post finds you well, wherever you may haunt.
At the ripe young age of 52, I finally decided to chase my lifelong dream of publishing my own books about movies. While 50's nothing in Vampire Years, it was time to finally give it a shot or let it go.
And thanks to some wonderfully generous support from the good ghouls here at CHFB, our first volume Transgressive Horror successfully funded, followed by two more.
Now we're back with a new book: Transgressive Horror Resurrected: More Reflections on Scare Films That Broke the Rules. It's an eclectic collection of writers all opining on their favorite fright flick that (re)wrote genre or subgenre rules, or changed the way horror cinema is marketed, merchandised, or produced. Our contributors include some veteran genre scribes, and some newer writers getting their first exposure. Our selected films cover a date range from Haxan (1922) to Godzilla Minus One (2023).
I launched the Kickstarter the day I started my 30th(!) year as a public school educator, figuring that might bring me luck. And who knows? Maybe this book can be retirement fund.![:)]()
I'd be most appreciative if you'd take a look at our project here, and if you like what you see, would be grateful for a pledge and/or sharing the link with other people who might be interested in it:
Thank you for helping make a Monster Stepkid's dream come true, and for giving life to GSP, a place where writers are treated and paid well.
Best regards,
Prof. Christopher McGlothlin
