VIMEO is a treasure trove of funky, uncharted little movies. A recent discovery for me was TRAIL OF THE ASSASSIN QUEEN, a TRULY amateur project made entirely by high school students at every juncture of production. It's shot digital, and clearly inside a school, a church, and possibly a restaurant. The story is of the "intergalactic action fantasy" feather popular at the time, and while nobody's going to proclaim it a critically good movie, these giddy teens give it their all. You'd have to be a pretty curmudgeonly old wowzer to keep from cracking a smile.
What's more fun than playing charades? Yep...watching it being played. These kids are having a lot of fun, and it's a lot of fun to watch as a result. Oh...and mullets. Lots of them.
A+ for effort...give it a watch if you've got some time to kill.
