The Galacticat International Film Festival in the small Spanish town of Tarega abandoned its fantasy genre bias in this, its eleventh year, but the Best Film category was still won by a fantasy project - the Argentine movie El Escuerzo.

Meanwhile, Venancio, a young gaucho, deserts from the army. He has killed a horned frog - sadly, he has a thing about frogs, the way some people do about snakes or rats. The problem is, killing a horned frog attracts a lifetime curse - surely everyone knows that? Venancio desperately seeks salvation among rustlers, priests, shamans and deserters. The harder he tries, the more pronounced the curse becomes.
