Nikiya (Uzo Aniunoh) had a difficult childhood as an orphan but she recently found love with Luc (Bucci Franklin) in this Nigerian gothic thriller. Things can only get better when she discovers Luc comes from a wealthy family from whom he is estranged. His mother calls and invites Nikiya to stay with the family in their country villa for the weekend to celebrate the parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Nikiya is nervous at meeting the family - even more so when she is faced with hardened security guards outside the gates to the villa's grounds. She is introduced to Luc's shady sister Kama (Meg Otanwa). They get on well but she takes an instant dislike to Kama's brutish boyfriend.

Things find a more even keel when they all sit down to dinner - but that's when things turn really weird........what on earth is this on the menu?

Already described by the Alliance of Women Journalists as an 'instant horror classic' this movie was picked for the Tribeca Festival.

For Uzo Aniunoh, this is another triumph ('a white knuckle ride' according to Pajiba magazine) after her role in the breathtaking fantasy Mami Wata (2023) about a village that unites to defeat a mermaid goddess.
