Horror Film Stars • "Jimmy the Raven"...avian movie star

Stolen from his nest as a chick in 1934 by animal trainer CURLY TWIFORD, Jimmy the Raven(aka "Jimmy the Crow") would live to appear in more than 1000 films before dying in 1956 at age 60.  At the hight of his celebrity he had 21 stand-ins, was paid $500 weekly, and was insured by MGM for $10,000. He also received a Red Cross gold medal for entertaining veterans post-WW2. He was said to have mastered a syllybus of 50 words, and had the problem-solving capacity of an 8 year old child.
