Not a genre festival but two movies premiering at the Festival in September look interesting:
The Life of Chuck, directed by Mike Flanagan, stars Tom Hiddleston and Karen Gillan. Anything with that combination must be worth seeing. The movie is based on a Stephen King short story. Lauren LaVera, recently seen in the very scary The Well also features.

The second genre premiere is Amy Adams in Nightbitch. A mother gives up her job to stay at home with her child - surreal things start to happen - is she losing her mind? I rather liked Amy in Disenchanted (2022), the tongue-in-cheek follow-up to Enchanted (2007):
