Being touted around Cannes this week is this Eurospy homage from Brussels-based duo Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani.
The blurb: John, a septuagenarian living in a luxury hotel on the Côte d'Azur, is intrigued by his roommate who reminds him of the craziest days of the Riviera during the 1960s. At that time, he was a spy in a growing world full of promise. One day, this neighbor mysteriously disappears... and brings John face to face with his demons again: are his adversaries of yesteryear back to sow chaos in his idyllic world?
This is the fourth collaboration from the extraordinary team of Cattet-Forzani, all of which have won prizes on the festival circuit - Amer (2009), The Strange Colour of Your Body's Tears (2013) and Let the Corpses Tan (2017) - all are worthy of your attention - beautiful cinematic craftsmanship.
