Christophe Gans back at the helm - this is the third in the series that began in 2006. This new instalment is independent of the first two movies in terms of plot.

The new movie features Evie Templeton, a young actress who looks destined for stardom after a strong performance in last year's so-so Lords of Misrule.
Gans added: "One of my main goals in this film is to redraw the classic monster from Silent Hill. I was talking about the Red Pyramid Thing... You know, the guy with the helmet. He's back in this one."
