Our Favorite Horror Hosts • Toulouse NoNeck and Badfinger

I just finished reading Without You: The Tragic Story of Badfinger by Dan Matovina, which is undoubtably the most depressing book that I have ever read.

After chief songwriter Pete Ham committed suicide in 1975, the band split into two or three units, all of them competing against each other, and all the while touring under the name of Badfinger(!).  They were completely broke and they were treated as slaves by their managers.

On July 10, 1982,  they performed 9 songs on Milwaukee's SHOCK THEATRE show, hosted by Toulouse NoNeck.  The book implied that a band as accomplished as Badfinger stooping to this local-TV level was insulting, and I would have to agree with that. (On a related note, Badfinger's corrupt and Mafiosoed manager tried to beat up Toulouse NoNeck after the taping.)

They sounded pretty good all things considered, and here's some of that show:  (Note: lead singer Tom Evans also took his own life.  He commited suicide a year after this show was aired.)
