In the UK at least, Bollywood horror Bhaagamathie is now available for free on Amazon Prime (which I think means it's also free on freevee but I get confused by these things).

A triumph for Anushka Shetty on its release, the film broke box office records. The basic plot is this: Anushka is a material witness in a political corruption investigation. The police lock her up in an old mansion to keep her from the prying eyes of the press whilst they investigate. The mansion is haunted by the ghost of Queen Bhaagamathie from times past. Anushka is tormented by the ghost (great scenes here - including one where she turns a doorknob to enter a room but then cannot release her hand from the doorknob - it's surprisingly scary) - but then the Queen possesses Anushka seeing in her a kindred spirit (the Queen was left to rot in the mansion by her political enemies). The new Anushka scares the pants off her investigators - is she really possessed or is she faking it? And what's the real story behind the corruption investigation and Anushka's role in it? I tell you, this is one Hell of a ride.

New fans of Anushka should also check out the two-part historic fantasy epic Baahubali (2015 / 17) and the earlier fantasy Arundhati (2009) in which she battles against an evil wizard.
