Well, being raised Catholic, I was told that bad girls do, in fact , go to Hell, unless they ask forgiveness, but what about girls who aren't so much bad as they are really, really stupid?
Because, that is the only thing the girl from BAD GIRLS GO TO HELL is guilty of.
I have to preface this by saying my comment here will spoil the entire movie, but Michael Weldon also ruined it in the Psychotronic Video Guide, it's hard to talk about this movie without talking about the entire movie.
Ahem, so, here we go, spoilers ahead: This girl is sexing in bed with her new husband, she asks him not to go to work so they can sex more. He has to go, she decides to empty an ashtray and promptly gets raped by the building janitor as soon as she walks out the door ( That's not why she is stupid, but it's crazy how it happened instantly, and how she proceeds to deal with it.)
She goes in and cries about it ( understandable) but then, she sees a note slipped under the door, which is from the sleazy janitor, and it says something like, "Come to my apartment or I'll tell your husband."
Now, I'm not a girl from 1965, but if I were, the first thing I'd do would be to curl up in a fetal position, cry, wait for my husband to get home, them scream THE JANITOR RAPED ME!!"
She did not take this course or action.
First, she burns the note, (GENIUS!) then goes to the janitor's apartment, he attempts to rape her again, she smashes his head in with a bowl or something, then thinks, "What have I done?" moves to New York (Even though she has never been there.) changes her name and weeps on a bench.
Then a nice guy takes pity on her, takes her back to his place and does not try to have sex with her, but he seems to be an ex-alcoholic, so she finds a bottle of booze under his sink and tries to ply him with that (Probably the only "bad" thing she does.) and as soon as he drinks, he goes into a sadistic frenzy and whips her with a belt. If I got like that with booze I'd stop drinking too!
So, after he passes out, she gives him a kiss on the cheek and moves on to the next life she can ruin. She stays with an obvious lesbian, they get close, she reveals she is an acrobatic dancer(? Why has this skill not come up before?) they have sex, then she leaves because they love each other too much.
Unless I'm getting the order wrong, she then rents a house from some lady, but her husband rapes her so she leaves again.
Then she tries to take care of an old invalid woman because she also has nursing skills, but the woman's son comes home and he is a detective looking for her, then she screams and wakes up.
Her original husband from the beginning of the movie wakes her up, but he has to leave again, and then she goes out to empty the same damn ashtray and get's raped by the same damn janitor again!!
So, she might not be that bad of a girl, but she is in a Hell loop.
Has anyone else watched this? From legendary Doris Wishman of NUDE ON THE MOON fame. This actually is better than NUDE ON THE MOON, because that was just a filmed nudist camp with people wearing alien antennae.
It is my goal to watch any movie featured on Something Weird's EXTRA WEIRD SAMPLER, and I I'm getting there. (I think it's a noble goal.)
