This story only recently came to my attention, and it's mighty odd...

PAUL SAMMON has worn a number of hats in the production of several films, and is the author of FUTURE NOIR: THE MAKING OF BLADERUNNER. In 1983, he set about filming a parody of E.T.. With an assembled production crew of around 25, and based out of a San Diego office, the picture was to detail alien representatives from an intergalactic brewery who stop on Earth to take a leak, accidentally leaving one in the group behind. He befriends a boy named Helliot, who delights in sadistically tormenting him.
Filming commenced in the California Laguna Mountains, with a massive constructed spaceship interior set. Reshooting was required six months later when it was revealed that a film cartridge had frozen in camera. The film was ultimately completed, and Sammon began negotiations with potential distributors. During this time, an overseas distributor stole the print, leaving Sammon with only a partial negative and sound elements. The film has never emerged, and is considered lost.
During production, an article on the film was featured in CINEFANTASTIQUE.
