The long thought lost and unreleased Oliver Drake Vegas monster mash has been found by Severin intact and in good shape. Yesterday they officially announced their intentions to release it to disc later this year:
"New Negative Discovery Of Lost Film: THE MUMMY AND THE CURSE OF THE JACKALS (1969) directed by Oliver Drake and featuring John Carradine has always been shrouded in mystery. The film had a very minor VHS release in the 90s but otherwise has only been the stuff of rumor such as the film never being completed due to mob interference or the director having dementia. Turns out the film was finished and the negative has been sitting in a dusty corner of the studio of one of the producers for over 50 years. Said producer passed away a few years ago and his assets were sold from a storage unit in North Hollywood late last year where we picked it up along with a very damaged print of a sexploitation film from the same production team. MUMMY/JACKALS is intact, in surprisingly good condition and being prepared for special edition disc release later this year."
