![Shock etc. 1.JPG]()
These are clippings from 1960-1962 or so. Channel 8 was Northern California, perhaps Chico. (Certainly not Zeppo.) That's the closest that Shock (or Son of Shock) got to the Sacramento Valley, where I lived at the time. At least under its original name. It did get to our neck of the woods, as The Late Show, the beginning of my interest in classic horror. A few years later, Mystery Mansion debuted on channel 10, Sacramento. These old, televised horror movies did not really scare me so much as fascinate me, in an elemental way, though "Mark of the Vampire" and "The Mask of Fu Manchu" scared my sister, whom I more or less forced to stay up late to watch.
